So I dared to cross into the Southern lands (Suffolk) for a bit of bird ringing. Gorgeous place. Some piccies.

This was at night. It got to over 30 degrees while I was there and apparently they hadn't had rain for 6 weeks (except for a small shower once)


View from the room I was staying in...in a 400 year old house, absolutely lovely.

Looks like a nice weekend.

This bee was HUGE, with only one wing, think it was a Queen!


A Brown Hawker dragonfly that was extracted from a net






And a female Stag Beetle, these are pretty rare and pretty big too!

Yes that old! Everywhere creaked hehe.

And no I didn't go on the bike, would have been lovely but it was so hot there I think I would have overheated I went on the train...

When the one wing bee was flying could it only fly in circles?

That dragonfly is mahooosive!! Looks mental
