Am I a bad person???

Whilst out in the car this morning I came round some bends then right after this corner it goes from a 50 to 40 limit. Right at this point a few of the older locals were setting up a speed camera under the guise of community speedwatch. What sort of power do these people have?
Now back to my point if I was speeding on my bike I would have been very tempted to pull over tell these blokes what I thought of them and proceeded to launch the speed camera down the bank, does that make me a bad person?

Not much.

If I remember correctly, they might take down a reg number and pass it to the police, who may then send an advisory letter. That's about the extent of it. I doubt very much that their monitoring could lead to a conviction/fine.

I don't understand why you'd get so upset about them being concerned about speeding traffic in their neighbourhood? Certainly a better option than the police setting up a radar trap

Bunch of f*cking muppets with too much time on their hands trying to save the world from people doing 31mph.

I've had them motioning for me to slow down on the bike when going through a village in north wales which is a fooking NSL. I was doing 55

They're only concerned about speeding traffic in their village in the same way they're "concerned" about noise from the railway they bought a f*ckin house next to, or "concerned" about the next door neighbors curtains or "concerned" that flour isn't the same colour it used to be.


There's only a finite number of plod, and they'll be off setting up a radar trap somewhere else.

Hmm, chucking the speed camera down an embankment might be classed as criminal damage, and chucking the nimbys down after it is probably common assault. Fortunately, no points on the license for either of those.

Though it would be more entertaining to suggest that they move to somewhere people will actually be interested in their results. Like outside the local biker pub... (standing quarter mile with radar speed measurement anyone??)

Just really annoyed me, as much as i hate speed cameras thats what the police get paid for.
Why dont they have burn the chavs, or forcefully evict drug dealers partnership? That would make every much nicer.

they do the leg work, if a lot of speeders are out then its ground for the police to come and enforce,

to be honest in residential areas I wish they would do it my way, just because you can see the de restriction sign does not mean you need to be doing 80 when you go past it.
