I am waiting to get rid of my 06 vectra 1.9 SRI 150 to the lease company, it has done 80,000.
Put it this way, it wont be replaced by another vauxhall. Build quality is poor, for a "sportier" model the turbo lag is atrocious, handling is pants it gives you no confidence on cornering, it is uncomfortable, noisy. Paint work is 2nd rate, thin and easily chipped. avoid.

Had one as a loan car.
More engineering in a loaf of bread. If you've touched one, wash your hands in case unreliability can be passed on.

Had an Xreg one for four years. Parkers quote them at 32 MPG, which i think is slighty generous, I rekon about 28 myself. Never used to rag it around either (much). Extremely good MPG on the motorway though. Mechanically they have issues which can cost a lot to repair, only to reoccur again. The manifold outlet gasket is so thin the manifold cracks or the bolts shear off in the head. The idle air control valve needed removing every few thousand miles for cleaning. Both these items were replaced at vauxhall just before i purchased it. It's an absolute hoot to drive fast ![]() Moved onto a VW diesel. HTH |

My 51 plate Vectra 1.8LSi has 71k on the clock, if you'd been a week earlier you could have bought it off me for a dead cheap price.
As it turns out it's being relieved from me by my local car dealer as a trade in... I've had no end of bother with it including: new petrol tank leaking window seals all round front electric windows packed in dead exhaust it's also needed 3 new tyres in a year and new brakes all round to the tune of £300. It handles like crap, and is not particularly nice to drive. Dont buy a vectra. Last edited by fenjer; 24-08-10 at 09:22 PM. |

But Parkers show a pointy for 2002 and say:
"Brakes work awesomely well, forks have enough composure"- perhaps they should stick to cars?
