Default K3 SV650s registered on 05 plate - what's it worth?

Hi

I'm looking at buying a K3 model SV650s which was is registered on an 05 plate and has 1100 genuine miles. It's a one owner bike and has only had one service at around 600 miles. Since then it's been laid up in a conservatory and the condition reflects the low mileage.

The colour is copper metallic which I believe is a special edition colour? The person is looking for £2400, is this too much? I was thinking more like £2000 as it's going to need at least the oil changing and maybe tyres as it's been stood for so long?

Thanks in advance.

I'd go up to £2.2k if you like the copper colour (which I do tbh )

The colour isn't special edition (really) it was just produced for one year (2003).

The "Candy Burning Copper" was very much a "Marmite" choice for everyone. This would explain it being so late registered. The dark shade put a lot of people off compared to the reaction to Hondas copper on the Hornet for example which was a brighter, golder shade. Personally I can take it or leave it. The bike sounds like it should be pretty mint, but as you say the tyres could be a bit worse for (no) wear. Beware if the engine hasn't been run regularly since things could rust up internally with condensation. Oil, coolant, brake fluid & fuel should all be changed. I'd look very closely at the brake hoses too and perhaps even plan to change these due to perishing. The service schedule recommends those are changed after 4 years anyway. Has the battery been maintained with a trickle charger? If not, plan on the battery being well past its best also- whilst it may start the bike in the warm, things may be different in the colder weather.
