Default "A nationwide survey"

A bit like Tim's born yesterday thread.

I've had 6 calls this afternoon asking me to confirm my details as part of a customer service survey.

To be fair I listened to what they had to say, and what they wanted I said yes to but that I would have to ask my carer for permission.

How very rude! They hung up on me.

Ha ha thats a new one, like it

I've pretended to by German before, plus the odd reply of 'I'm sorry I don't want to buy a helicopter today thank you'

Keep em hanging on by saying 'I'll just go and find her'

Try these guys Telephone Preference Service.

This cuts cold calls by a huge amount.

Yes, TPS is a big help, not 100% but nothing will be, especially for the far eastern callers.

If I'm in a good mood I just say no thanks and hang up, if I'm not I say there's someone at the door, please hold .................................................. ......................................

The best one I ever had was a double glazing salesperson asking what home improvements i would make if i had £10,000 ......a new car was my reply.....but we don't do cars....well that is the only way to improve my household at the moment thanks.

Woman started to laugh and I just started to humour her with her questions converstaion went a bit like this

Her: Well what about your windows have you ever thought about changing them?
me: well yes actually as i don't really like the ones that are in the house.
her(i could almost hear the pound signs cartoon style rolling in her eyes): so what's wrong with the ones you have?
me: well they have secondary double glazing and it's quite noisy where i live and they don't keep the noise out.
her: so how many windows have you got?:
me: just a second let me count them ....as i slowly walk through the house.......13 windows and 2 external doors
her: so would you be looking at replacing them all?
me: yes of course
her: can we arrange for a consultant to come out a measure up for you to give ou a quote?
me: of course you can but i'll have to make sure it's a day suitable for the owner to be there as well as she is a very busy woman being the queen and having a country to run!!
her: the owner?
me: yes
her: you said you owned the property!
me: no i did not and as you informed me at the start of this unwated call that it may be recorded i suggest you play it back to prove it!
her: well thanks for your time anyway and if we do ever start to sell cars i'll give you a phone back

made me smile for weeks that call did.

i love winding them up

I once had a woman trying to book a courier to come and collect a package from her - on my mobile number which she said she'd found in the thompson local!

Once I explained that I wasn't a courier and asked her where abouts in the UK she was, she said "oh I don't want to tell you that dear" so I said "well if we don't know where you are, how will we be able to collect this package for you" her: "oh right yes I didn't think, I'm in mid cornwall dear..."

random - rang thompson local straight away to get my number taken out of their southwest book
