Got back from having a gastroscopy about an hour ago! What a weird experience lol, certainly glad i had the sedation!
I was kinda out of it, but what i remember would of been pretty friggin' awful if i wasn't sedated! Throat and gullet are pretty sore, just hope im right for riding tomorrow! Was high when i first got in, but now im starting to feel a bit drowsier. Experiences people? |

a most unpleasant and unwelcome experience. Finally had to a pill and eventually got on with it - only problem was that it took 2 or 3 times longer than normal as they wanted more pictures and samples for analysis - good news is they said I wouldn't have to have another for 3 years (unless there is another problem) - can't wait

I can remember about 20 seconds of it with the sedative, it was surprising just how quickly the sedative had an effect.
I just feel tired now, but with all the anxiety and lack of food + water combined with getting up at alf 4 this morning, its to be expected! Still cant remember most things for the hour after! Personally, i recommend everyone gets sedated, as what i remember of it would of been horrendous without it! No sly comments? Were are my insults? |

Had two without sedation, and one with.
I could get really hooked on the good stuff.

Had 3 so far, first time I was asked if I wanted to take up half of the girlfriends day by being sedated or just do without as 'its really not so bad at all'.
The next 2 were with sedation........ |

Im guessing the tube was a bit thicker and the anaesthetic wasnt quite as efficient as it is today either!
haha yeah, the wind has stopped, fairly quickly as well! Got a mammoth sore throat today though, i remember waking up during the procedure and talking saying it was hurting, and they said dont talk or you'll get a sore throat; happen they be right. |

I've had a few of these. Funny how you lose an hour or two afterwards!
And they're far less intrusive than a colonoscopy.....!! |
