Just have to take advantage of the lovely weather at the moment so yesterday I was up early and left my house at 0800 hrs.
Turned off the A65 at Hellifield and took a single track road through Malham and Langcliffe. It's a fantastic bit of road. Hardly any traffic and great scenery. ![]() ![]() ![]() Parked up the bike to take some photos and this nosey horse came trotting up. I'm not very keen on horses. They scare me a little. ![]() ![]() Then took the B6479 up to Ribblehead Viaduct. ![]() ![]() Then the B6255 to Hawes and Butter Tubs Pass. ![]() ![]() Butter Tubs Pass is fantastic. Shame it's not much longer. ![]() ![]() Then I took the B6270 to Kirkby Stephen. Yet another fabulous road. Hardly any traffic. Bliss! ![]() From Kirkby Stephen, on to Brough and the B6276 to Middleton-in-Teesdale with a short stop at Selset Reservoir. ![]() ![]() Then on to Alston via the B6277. ![]() Lunch stop at Hartside. ![]() Then the A6 through Shap and Kendal, then home via A65 which I despise immensely, but by this point I was tired and just needed a quickest way home. 291 miles of lovely riding in the sun. ![]() ![]() ![]() Happy riding one and all. |

Looks lovely Mel! I was up there the other day, clear, bright sunshine, but no pics I'm afraid!

![]() ![]() I'm guessing the horse had never seen a 2 tone SV before, just wanted a closer look ![]() Love the pics Mel, especially the helmet shots! I might do some of the this route tomorrow, if I can muster the willpower to stop i'll take some pics myself ![]() |
