Default Toothache

I need some advice fellow organs.

I've got toothache (had it for about a week) and its going to be at least a week till I can get to a dentist. Probably two.

I've got a deep filling thats come loose but not fallen out. Any quick fixes? I'm going through Ibuprofen like they're smaries! I've tried co-op sensitive tooth paste... no joy.

Any ideas?

Oil of cloves rubbed in your gums may help.

ooh I feel ya pain!! I had toothache a while back, had to have a canal root filling, like you I was going thru ibroprofen like smarties - even ran out one day - that was fun, not!

Get an ice pop and try numbing your gum with it - leave it on for around 15 mins, gives a bit of relief, oil of cloves is normally used too, never tried it myself but heard it stinks

Doubt you will get any decent relief though until you have been to the dentist and get it sorted. You might have got muck inside your tooth if its lose and its caused an abscess, can you visit your Dr any sooner to get some antibiotics. Thats what I had and because it was in the root canal I didn't have the tell-tale swelling (thank god lol)

Hope you get it sorted soon x

I have found that Paramol works with toothache. Did for mw anyway when I had a tooth out, cut the gum to get it out and stitches
You can get it in Boots over the counter

clove oil is amazing. I had an impacted wisdom tooth, looked like a hamster, couldnt close my mouth properly or open it very wide. put clove oil directly onto tooth and pain was completely gone. redid it every hour and was pain free until I saw dentist

Explain to your dentist you are in pain, most will see you same day under those circumstances. Mine even opened up on a Sunday morning and travelled from Southport where he lived to his surgery in Preston. Oh and he was NHS and not a money grabber as well.

It's the same thing just it's a brand name.
They may sugar coat it and charge you 3 times the price but the active ingredients are the same.

Try 2 ibroufen and then 2 hours later 2 paracetomol 2 hours later 2 ibrofen, this keeps you topped up and they can be taken together like this as the active ingredients are not the same. Just do not exceed the daily recomended dose of either so of the top of my head 8 of each in 24 hours.
