Default Arrow exhaust fitting

Hi from Downunder

I have a 2002 SV650 with a standard exhaust. There is currently an Arrow exhaust (muffler) for sale on our online auction site (TradeMe). The model is 71065AL, which I believe is aluminium. There are no fittings supplied with the exhaust. Can anyone tell me what fittings are needed to fit this exhaust to my bike, and where I could get them? I can't find an Arrow dealer in NZ. I presume I need a clamp to secure the muffler to the exhaust mount on the bike. Do I also need a clamp for the front joint, or is it just a snug fit?

My alternative is a Scorpion. Any opinions on the quality of Arrow vs Scorpion? Alumimium vs stainless steel? Which is the louder? I want the bike to sound nice, but I don't want to upset the neighbours too much!

Any help much appreciated.

Cheers

Dave

Hello from upover

Whilst not familiar specifically with those cans, all of them I have encounterd so far requires you to cut the standard exhaust, and connect the new aftermarket can with a link pipe, secured with clamps.

Scorpion is quite highly rated, in fact I havent heard anyone ever say they dont like it. Not sure on how the material affect noise to be honest.

"Sound nice and not be too loud" is 100% personal judgement. What is loud to some is not loud to others. Then there is the note of the sound, some sound "harsher" then others.

Also depends on which Scorpion you are looking at, as they have varying shapes/sizes/lengths.

Thanks for the reply. I've decided to order a low-mount Scorpion thorugh the local dealer. Will take longer to get it, but at least I know it will fit right on.

Cheers

fyi you can make any zaust fit if you make the effort and can bodge
yes scorpians are very nice but tbh i would have went arrow especially as there genrally that bit better and if it was going for the same money as a scorpian i would have had it twise as fast (they normally cost a fortune)
