I finally gave up trying to be comfortable on lower speed single track roads on my pointy SV650s so I looked into raised bars for it.

They look like well made items and a fair bit of thought has gone into their design. Fitting is easy following the packaged instructions and no cables are needed extended and no fouling of anything.But the standard brake line on my bike would not let the bars be pulled right up to the bottom of the top yoke.I got round this by modifying the clamp bracket for the brake line on the headstock.I fitted them turned as far forward as possible against the top yoke clamp bolts and there is still room to adjust the control levers up and down for comfort. Having rode on them for a bit on mixed roads this is what I have found. positives: You are definately more upright and elbows are not so close to the tank. Town riding is easier and steering is lighter due to the wider bars and comfier ride. Slow single track roads are less painful and you can see slightly further ahead due to the higher seating position. Tipping in is more of a fall due to the extra height. Basically better view ahead,less **** up head down and you can keep your arms in the right position for riding without getting low and tucked. negatives: At prolonged speed the lower back muscles hurt from wind blast in the chest(hopefully I will get used to it,or tuck in) Less front end feedback,but the SV has a fair dollop of that in standard so not a big problem and there is way to increase it again. The front seems to feel more twitchy,perhaps due to the transfer of weight further back keeping the power on keeps it under control. notes of interest: I have a double bubble screen and get windblast in the chest but no buffeting of my head,I am 6ft tall. Changing the front tire from a 160/60 to say a 65 or 70 will give better feedback but that has other complications. The mounting angle of the brake fluid reservoir is at an angle,its not an issue but I may try to tidy that up in some way in the future. Make sure you really dog those clamp bolts up ,or if you go into a turn deep and fast you may find a clip on moving as you jerk the bars |

Where do I begin?
I have been down the exact same road as you. Sold my bandit mania clip ons on ebay. I ended up with a bar conversion from Matts Yokes who is a member on here. Searh it there is loads on the topic from me, and a lot of other epoiple |

Perhaps, after "teaching" the back muscles to accept the pain from the initial position for several thousand miles, when I've changed the muscles groups, there was some "getting used to" time. Mind you, the raised handlebars only took a fraction of the time to get my muscles used to the new riding position. I'm also 6ft tall @ 15st.
