Default SV650 Turbo Upgrade

Hi Guys,

Last year i got the drag bug and i got it bad!
This year ill be racing ET at Shakey and want to go back this year super fast!

Ive been looking at the turbo kits for the 1000 from america and just wondered if the kit will work on the 650?

obviously a remap would be needed but id like to know if the kit you get will fit without modification?

i would think it would as the engines arent that different, but i could be wrong.

Hopw some can help.

Pez

IMO don't bother.
  • Nitrous is easier. You can build a kit for peanuts.
  • You can already get to strength limit of motor with naturally asthmatic tuning and will spend a fortune on rods, pistons, balancing etc. Then crank will snap.
  • Kit for thou will be too big
  • It is hard to package turbo system onto a twin.
Buy a GSXR1100, you can get near 200bhp for under £1500 including the bike with turbo, much less with nitrous but higher running cost.

BTW the engines are actually very different in almost every way except for being V twin and saying suzuki on the side.

Think i should just run Nitrous then ?
what would that entail kit wise? remaps etc?

Ill be running with the supertwins so the bike has to be a twin GSXR out the window

No remap with nitrous, just fire it in. I do not like dry systems, so separate fuel is better.

You'll still probably snap the crank, but it will be fun doing it.

Give me a shout if you want a hand, I'd be interested in having a hand in this.

This is a good site for DIY nitrous.

Don't do what i did though and buy loads of NOS stuff and loads of NX stuff before realising one is imperial and one is metric meaning you need a couple of hundred quids worth of weird pipe fittings to fit it all together.

IMO for an easy live, you should spend £5-600 on a kit, you will get everything you need, pretty much.

If is a pointy you have, you'll need to know how much extra fuel the FI will supply when on the gas. A finger in the air guess usual says about 20BHP extra.

If you want more than that, you will need the complication of changing parts of the fuel system.
