Default BMW 1st Servicing Costs

Anyhere here recently taken in a BMW for its first service?

According to the car (118D M-Sport) its got 1000 miles due before its first service. That will stick it at about 15.5k miles. I was told at the time of buying the average first service comes in at 18k, unless you've been thrashing it. Oops.

I estimate this to be due around xmas, and I'm panicking becuase I have no idea how much to expect it to be.

I had a friend just take his M3 to get an oil changed and new set of pads all round, set him back £800...

I have no experience with MOT or servicing costs - my first car was such a banger I did my own servicing, after that I've had lease cars which the servicing was included.

What'dya thunk?

Mine's lease hire also, but I chose not to have maintenance due to low anticipated mileage, which then doubled a couple months later -.-;

Mine's a 118D M Sport too, not as jazzed out as yours though. Comfort pack (Auto headlights, wipers, interior lights, etc) and the Storage Pack (Cup holders and random storage compartments).

14.5k in 9 months...what's that, 1611 miles a month average.

Just out of curiosity scoobs, what MPG does it read out for you? I read about people getting like 50+mpg but my readout says 42.8 most of the time. If I'm lucky it'll go to 43.4 for a bit then back down to 42.8. I have never reset it, ever.

Most of the time I'm getting 470-510 out of a tank.

Top speed, 138! That was slightly downhill with a back wind though

Prepare to bend over and take it like a ......

My dad used to have his beemer serviced regularly by BMW, cost a fortune, and he always complained about the cost, but they always sent it back spick and span.

Well considering I haven't washed it in about 3 months at least I get a free one.

I'll pretend that makes me feel better

I wouldnt let any garage wash my car with the communal sand block , sorry i mean sponge.
My friend does pro detailing and done a paint correction on a 5 series for a customer at £600 a time.
It went in for service and the customer told BMW NOT to wash it, they did and the paintwork was swirled to fook again.
BMW paid another £600 to have him do it again
I never have bikes or cars washed by any garage, the only person apart from me id trust is my mate, thats it.

IIRC its about £250 I know because the company bought my 318D M sport I weighted up the serviceing pack re individual services..

not a massive amount different but worth it incase the clutch goes.
