if i get anything to do with cards/paypal/banks ect ect that looks fishy via email i always look at the email domain as it normally just doesn't look right or is spelt incorrectly.
just out of interest what was the email domain ?

mental - it never ceases to amaze me how people still end up giving their details out when they keep getting warned about this thing.

I just never give any details to links, if things need updating, i go to the site itself and never through links.
Police will only be interested if theres coffee and donuts in it for them
