Default iPhone woes.....

Does anybody elses keep displaying the message 'chargin not supported with this accessory' when it's plugged in on charge?

Plus mine keeps sticking, when I press delete and let go it keeps on deleting stuff, same thing happening on the gf's HTC.

I blame solar flares personally...

erm, if it's telling you that charging is not supported with this accessory then it could be due to non-genuine iPhone charger which is for a different generation iphone? I once bought an in car charger on the services for my 3G which had a label saying it was for 3GS - the guy in the shop said it would definitely work but I wasn't so sure...

It didn't. Same message as you're reporting. Happily he did a straight swap for another one he had in stock labelled for 3G (and I saved £5 in the process! )...

Alternatively it could be due to water or moisture damage on one of the contacts or inside the phone? I woke up isle of man to find my phone sat in a small puddle of beer. It wouldn't charge and kept doing whacky stuff. As soon as I got it home I left it on a radiator for a few hours and then put it in the oven at around 50 degree's C to try and dry it out. The phone started working perfectly until I upgraded to iPhone 4 in july...

Screen sticking/phone deleting things of it's own accord suggests that it could be moisture damage as well. Have you tried backing up and restoring the phone in itunes? (a bit like formatting and reinstalling the OS).. Give that a try.

I think it might have been down to this guy:

can't remember his name but he belonged to manxmatt and decided to come back to my tent with me and dave numbers to carry on drinking when everyone else had gone to bed on the plan'o'man weekend... As far as I can remember he disappeared off somewhere and walked 10 odd miles from peel to ramsey apparently?

if it consistently displays that message then you need a new charger, cost no more than 3 quid off ebay, mine sometimes says the same, pull out push in all ok

Thanks all, I bought a wall charger for 7 quid off the Market, and that's when it first started happening, simple fix I thought but then it's started doing it with the actual iPhone cable. Oh well like you said will probably just have to get one off flea bay.

As for the delete thing, think I must just have a sticky screen, and I haven't even been looking at any porn!

It's a 3GS and I upgraded the software a few weeks back, did the update thing and backup on iTunes. Will get a new charger n see if it fixes it.

Thanks for the help n info guys.
