Default British Grand Prix 2011

Just noticed the british GP is close to my Mrs birthday this year so was thinking of getting her tickets as a prezzie as she's really started to get into it last few years.

I am not a huge F1 fan, but I imagine seeing it in real life would be a totally different experience to watching it on TV.

Has anyone from here been? What's it like? Where are the best places to sit? What's the camping situation like?

I only live 40 mins from Silverstone in normal traffic is the traffic a nightmare when the GP is on would taking the car there every day be a mistake?

Cheers

Taking the car there everyday would be a mistake in my opinion. I tend to arrive through Dadford from the South rather than go any where near the A43. Although it was clear on the Moto GP day I dunno what it'll be like for the F1.

Never been camping though as I live 10 mins away.

Camped this year, twas awesome

Showers & loos were ok, bit of a queue for a shower in the evening. For next year they are building a huge new clubhouse with brand new shower blocks. Best bit was being able to wandwer in and out of the circuit as and when you felt like it, taking a few beers over to watch the races and then stagger back to the tent in the evening.

Take some earplugs, unless you opt for the 'quiet zone', some of the parties are loud and late
