Default Curvy starter motor parts?

My starter motor is earthing out, checked b4 i stripped it down. When i stripped it, the plastic eath protection that surrounds the live connection where it passes thru the casing has crumbled. Can these bits be obtained?

Cheers, Electro.

The terminal assembly is listed as a separate part, item 2 on this page:

Cheers for that Sid.

Managed to get starter terminal insulated and tested on a battery, all good. Looks like i need to find a new starter relay though.

Electro, have you already taken a look at the selonoid?

Why do you think you need a new solenoid/relay?

Starting to get a little naff`d off now!! If i put the ignition on and try to start the bike i get a crackly noise from the starter relay. Starter motor wont spin. If i get the starter motor to spin by putting another battery on it, it spins. Should the bike fire up or is there something else that engages coz i aint a bike mechanic.

Take a look at the selonoid ie unplug the block that goes into it.

My hunch is, arcing caused by the plug not sitting tight has melted the insulation around the pins there. If that is the case, then indeed, you'd need a new one as it's not really fixable/worth messing about with.

Just removed relay and tested as per haynes manual, connect 12v across relay terminals and click was heard plus had multimeter across pattery positive connection and starter connection and the relay worked. Will check the block now.

The starter clutch and intermediate gear, both under alternator cover.
If the probelm is the starter clutch then the rotor will have to come off for access - requires suitable puller.
