Default Engine strip advice needed

Can i remove the clutch first in a engine strip? I want to check the gear shift system just in case its not the gearbox. If it is do i have to refit the clutch if i have to do the whole thing?

Clutch can come out first if you like.

That's a little unclear, but, yes you can strip the rightside, removing the clutch basket to visualize that end of the gearshift mechanism, there is no need to remove the engine to do this.

Cheers Mark.
