Default Good time to buy?

Just been looking at the for sale section over the past couple of weeks and there isn't a huge amount of bikes coming through, is it normal for this time of year??

Cheers

Stu

There were quite a few on before Christmas, which is a mad time to try and sell

Buy now before spring gets here. New bike sales are down, but the 2nd hand market remains strong

Fewer people trying to sell, due to fewer people trying to buy.
Those who've something too sell will choose not to if they can afford it, those who NEED to get rid accept they'll loose a few quid selling now compeared to waiting until spring.

So its a great time to buy as you'll get more bike for less cash - only downside is that your selection is a little limited.

That said... mines available

Alot of dealers dont bother knocking prices down in winter anymore, they just save money through the summer to see them through, why sell something now when in 8 weeks it will be worth a lot more

Unless the dealer has a glut of the same bike (i.e. my local kawa dealer has 5 SV's and no where to put them) the prices are staying highish.

Used prices are high full stop, K2 with 10k on the clock is about 2 grand atm

Really? the 2nd hand market is far from strong. My CBR was up for sale for over 2 months at £3k without a sniff of interest, and the 2005/2006 600RR is a popular cult bike.

In the end I part/ex it for my new bike at a dealer and they gave me £4k for it. Which just goes to show how low priced it was.

How much do you want to spend and how new do you want the bike to be.
If you tell people on here what you are looking for you might find that people have bikes to sell but havent advertised them this time of year
I may know someone who would sell a 2010 sport for the right price!!
