Default Valve clearances (how long to do this?)

Going to be getting round to doing my valve clearances in the next week and was hoping someone could give me a ballpark figure of how long it usually takes, i'm only going to check them not adjust i'll take it to the garage if thats needed. I'm a fairly technically minded bloke and have worked on Aircraft for the past 10 years but haven't done much on my bike yet apart from a service and rear shock change. Just wondered if its a couple of hour job or if i need to put aside most of the day to do it
Cheers

if you're methodical and don't go busting anything an hour max, probably nearer half that.

Cheers Mark.

If your engineered minded the prep will take longer than the valve clearances.

As mark said a good hour, make sure you've got 2 sets of feeler gauges to check the clearance.

The actual check takes little time. Its the removing of everything to get to them that takes time and if you have to make any adjustments then more time again!

Just to check we charge generally 1.5 hours so £90. That includes removal of parts to get to clearances, IE fuel tank etc plus putting back together etc.
