Just a heads up that these things exist. If you can get one I advise you do, sometimes they make the prices reasonable
For instance today I needed a new sidelight bulb, everywhere local I normally use closed so off to Halfrauds. It was £2.99 for a pack, is it worth using the card for what must be a couple of pence. The guy at the cash register says I might be surprised and I was. 92p. Over 2/3rds off. OK I save 2 quid. nearly paid for the fuel to drive there in the first place.

I got mine my "qualification", simply proved I had served a recognised apprenticeship. But if you can prove you are a parts buyer etc. show them a couple of invoices then they will also issue one.

I'll ask the boss to sort it, he's the one who makes us drive battered old vans.

Does this include tools because i got a Company card which i use to buy halfords tools and the odd few batteries for generators? If i use the trade account and pay cash could get some tidy discount too instead of having to use quidco and wait for my claim to come through months after.

Yes it does include tools, I use mine all the time, for everything, saves me a few quid.
I got mine when I was at college doing a basic qualification in mechanics. |

The big price charges are on Bulbs and the like. They don't offer much off on oils and filters though. I still have my card from when I worked for them! The staff discount is pretty much worthless too.
To be honest though, even though I know a few of the guys there,I would be very dubious about letting a Halfords Monkey any where near my Car, Motor Bikes or Mountain Bikes. Having worked there I have seen the dark side of Halfords. So buy the bits but make sure that you fit them yourself and also save on the fitting fee! |
