Was riding home this avo and going about 35 in a 30mph zone at the top of a hill when I saw a police car at the bottom in a side road and so slowed down ASAP. There was one officer sat in the front with one of those radar guns pointing out the window.
Anyone know how it works with motorbikes, as obviously you don't have a numberplate on the front and by the time I went passed him I was doing about 25mph! I guess he wouldn't have been able to take a photo of me as I was going passed him because he would have had to have done so through his windscreen (which would interfere with the radar) and any photo he may possibly have taken at that time would have been of me riding like a slug. |

If you didnt get stopped, then youre probably ok. However, if you were lasered at over the limit, you could still get an nip as he could have clocked your reg as you passed.

Hmmm, I went past the dreaded golf on the A65 once (hate the road) at a brisk pace. He couldn't get rid of the camera to turn round to get my number fast enough.
2 weeks of worry and then breathe normally. Top tip, once you realise it is plod whack it open and get out the place ASAP. Wheeling ensures they haven't got your number. but make sure he has no mates waiting up the road.

I always slow down for cars/ vans as when they're deployed up here, there set up to generate revenue (i.e. the only straight stretch of the hartside pass where it safe to overtake)

Speedos tend to over-read, especially on a pointy. If you showed 35, he probably clocked you at 32 or 33, which he's unlikely to ticket you for.

Sounds a bit like the A65 man. bumper to bumper traffic from Gisburn to Settle, little overtake opportunity, solid white lines etc. As soon as you get to the Settle by pass, straight multi lane dual carriageway, bloody plod with revenue device in the layby. They would be better off resolving the issue of Dorris and the rest from the home doing 35 in NSL. But hell that isn't classed as dangerous ever if they force people to take risks to get past.

Bit late on this but I forgot to ask at the first reading
Is it legal to operate a laser through a glass which can be reflective? When you see the vans working the glass is open or removed. Meaning, would the car windows need to be open to use it? |

That was my understanding but I was wondering if a newer model had been introduced that could be operated from within the car with the windows closed.
