Default Hulloopla

Hello all, so I bought my SV about a month ago after everyone seemed recommend it as an ideal first big bike, put in new plugs, changed the oil, adjusted the clutch & last week passed my mod2. Woohoo! I've been working my way through the cliches -had someone pull out cos they didn't see me, revved the engine when going through a tunnel (best sound ever!) & my personal favourite seen a pothole, looked a bit too much at it & ended up plopping through.

So.... One thing that's confusing me, what's the etiquette with the biker nod? It's all a bit random but I noticed the further I leaned on a corner (not very) the more nods.

there is no etiquette.

it's a general nicety to nod - some will nod back, some wont. the nicer the biker the more often they nod.

Welcome to the org! Ride safe - shiny side up!

Find I get more nods out in the sticks, less so in town, gets a bit tedious if you see loads of bikes, end up looking like a churchill dog

HoL, dont forget to blip the throttle on a gear down change, sounds good, but also helps to avoid locking the back wheel or little tyre squeal.

Hi, I found the whole nodding etiquette thing curious when I got back in the saddle. Just do it, it's nice when someone does it back. Don't bother with Chopper riders though, they rarely seem to bother.

Sometimes when I'm bored I wave wildy at Chopper riders just because I think it winds em up.

I did see someone riding a chopper a few days ago, he was far too busy looking worriedly at a police car in his clearly non legal helmet - one of those shiny war types. I was amused by his atemptedly casual paniced looks
