Default Front end shake

I've started to notice this about 800 miles ago during my first track day on new Avon tyres. As I was approaching 100mph the front end began to shake and feeling a bit unstable. I didn't pay that much attention since I'm not a speed junky so thought it may be normal at those speeds and just slowed down.

About a week ago on a clear morning cruising on M20, I started to accelerate out of boredom and around 90-95mph the same subtle shake and unstable feeling.

Today the strangest happen when I was coming home for a morning ride out, engine braking from about 40mph on straight tarmac, the front end started to shake again while relaxing my grip on the handlebars.

Other than that, the bike feels pretty stable, no shakes or vibration on any types of roads at legal speeds.

I am not sure what may be the cause and I'm starting to worry a bit. I fitted the wheel myself and I double checked things but perhaps I'm missing something. Could a out of balance wheel cause this while perfectly normal at legal speeds?

Thanks for your input.

Does sound exactly like the wheel isn't balanced properly.

Is there a simple way to check this or should I take the wheel off and take it to the shops for inspection?

Assuming no other issues like warped discs etc......Lift front wheel off the ground, spin it, wait for it to stop, Mark the tyre/wheel with a reference point, (like the bottom) Spin it again, if it stops with the reference point/mark on tyre lined up, its out of balance.

Heaviest point will always settle at the bottom nearest the ground.

Nice idea there.

I've had balancing problems on numerous cars, and it generally only appears at certain speeds. So it sounds like an unbalanced wheel to me.
