Default Front sprocket spacer o-ring replace

K3 pointy - do i have to remove some oil to drop the level to replace this?

It's leaking because dum dum here didn't fit the new one, i tried to replace it during the rebuild but it it seemed to big to fit over the transmission shaft. I take it you have to 'gently persuade' it to go over, thereby preventing the oil leak which i seem to be having now!

If it's on a stand so that it's upright, and not too far forward, I doubt that the oil loss would be significant - if at all.

The oil only comes out when the engine is running and getting up to pressure, so i 'think' if i took off the sprocket/lockring/spacer, no oil would come out.

Does anyone know what way the sprocket spacer should go on? - is it the o-ringed end in first on the shaft? or the other way?

The microfiche shows the 'otherway' but the manual says o-ring end first !?!

Took off the spacer, the leak is at the oil seal bottom edge. Dunno why its doing this as it was a brand new oem part. Ive heard when some people fit it they line the outer edge with a thin layer of liquid gasket just in case the problem ive got happens - true?.
Looks like its gonna have to be popped out and replaced.

rrg? (red grease?) - Yeah i did use grease on the o-ring it was tight as fook to get the spacer on (i noticed the new oem ring was thicker than the old one and when i fitted the new one it did 'tear' as it went on it probably seals this way)

Frikkin nightmare these piddly wee jobs! - bearing that in mind i got the bike up to full temp for the first time today so all is well so far.

o rings are a nigglymare sometimes. i have proper gas fitting stuff that i use but its well messy as its white and gets all over the place.

nice one about getting bike up to temp. out soon i'm guessing
