Default clover r-7 - anyone with info?

Found a jacket on sale in my local shop - the clover r-7 at around 180 supposedly down from their price of 360+ and web shops seemingly selling them for over 400

Does anyone know much about this jacket in particular and clover leather in general? Only really know of the major brands and was looking for something in that price range (the reduced number not the full price) -tending towards an RST jacket of some sort until i saw that.

The webpages list the thickness at 0.9mm i noticed that most are at minimum 1.1-1.2mm and go upwards to 1.4 etc so does this mean its not as safe or are certain types of leather stronger/impact/slide resistant etc and thus can be thinner? Is it more important where burst seams sit etc like i read someones post on here about sending multiple items back as not fit for purpose etc... Just trying to fathom out how a jacket could be sold at such high prices if it wasnt inherently safe...

Cheers

My Ex has a clover 2 piece. It seemed ok, but the silver bits flaked off early in its early life and it wasnt used a huge amount.

Not sure about that one specifically, but I've got a Clover Q3 one-piece suit and crashed on my first outing. It was unmarked, the grass stains were the worst damage; I was very impressed, this isn't the first time I've crashed. It's well made and fits me well, not used it a lot otherwise.
