Default Who should i get to fix the SV650

Freind's SV650 is still not working right, when you gun the bike it bogs down at around 75 mph. Works fine all the way to light speed if you take it easy.

we have exhausted all options using our limited skill's:
Changed:

* Battery
* Spark plugs
* HT Leads And coils
* Fuel tank and pump
* Air filter
* Fit a standard can
* Checked all pipes for leaks and kinks
* Changed ecu

This has not solved the problem, so now i think we need to get someone with a better knowledge of the sv on the case.

I know there’s a few sv guru's on here and just wanted to know if there's anyone around the leeds area (willing to travel to them up to around 50mile).

If they would be willing to take a look at it i would happily give them some beer tokens for there efforts.

many thanks stephen

* its an 04 pointy.

ahhh yes that would help :P

It is a 04 pointy

At the moment we are just swaping the regulator/rectifyer over and then the TPS just so we can rule them out aswell.

I have an 05 pointy so was hoping we would have found the issue by now.

sounds like a fueling issue ether starving the bike of fuel (dosn't sound like this) or dumping in to much fuel

complete shot in the dark but my missus' fiesta did the exact same thing, felt like it was restricted to 60mph and bogged down if you tried to floor it past, however medium to 2/3rds throttle would see it slowly climb to 70 - disconnected the MAF sensor & suddenly you could nail it all the way to 90/100...

do sv's have some kind of maf or air meter?

Changed reg/rec and this has not stopped the issue.

Just looking into the TPS as a bit scared to mess with it and take it off both bikes as i have read they have very fine adjustments :/

Ran the bike in dealer mode on the last test run to see if we could get an error code to pop up, but no code poped up. The only thing that changed is that after the bike bogs down when you slow to a stop it was cutting out, but with the bike in dealer mode this wasent happening. (my theory is that as its in dealer mode the sensor that is trying to tell the bike to cut out normally has been over ridden?).

any input is greatly appreciated as we have been messing for about 6 weekends now!

If anyone can recomend a good man/woman on the tools i would be very happy.

no worries dude - as I say, complete shot in the dark, I've no mechanical knowledge to back this up and it's crappy n-reg ford fiesta 1.25 vs. 2004 japanese v-twin so I may just be bobbing for straws, but it's worth a try lol..

Where's YC when you need him?
