Default Indicator help......Nothing to do with flashers!

Can anybody help with an issue I'm having with a givi luggage rack, an R&G tail tidy and my rear indicators.

I have just fitted a givi luggage rack to the bike. Looks like this:

I had some odd non-OEM indicators which are fixed to an R&G tail tidy, and stuck out past the pannier frame so needed to get some new ones (OEM ones are too wide aswell). So without thinking I ordered these:

What I didn't realise is that the bit where you mount the indicators is set back quite a way from the side of my number plate. Like this:

It's about 28mm from plate to side of number plate. Like this:

The distance from the side of the number plate to the back of the pannier frame is about 54mm. Like this:

So in summary, I need an indicator that is not more than 82mm over-all from where the thread joins the body of the indicator, that has the actual bulbs / LEDs between 28mm and 82mm from the end of the thread. Oh and if thats not picky enough, I'd prefer the lens to be clear plastic to match the rear brake light.

I need to sort this before the AR, or I can't use the luggage, and I have my MOT due the week after, so it needs to be a decent fix.

Any suggestions anyone?

And I've ordered a flasher unit, so and LED option would be better.

There's loads on ebay. These ones are exactly 82mm long http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/JDC-MOTORC...item35b3eadfdd

Is that luggage bar supposed to be in front of the plate like that? Looks weird

Another option is just bend a piece of metal into a U shape and drill a hole in each end. Mount the indicator you have in one leg and bolt the other leg to the bike. Simple.
Code:
| |
|____________|
<-  ~30mm  ->

Cheers guys,

Next problem is that I ordered a flasher unit from ebay due to delivery yesterday and it didn't come - after chasing the seller tells me that he hasn't got any in until Wednesday - Thanks, my MOT is Thursday.

If I wire the standard indicators in parallel to the LEDs and hide them under the seat will that sort the flash rate out? And will that pass the MOT?

For a quick fix, try wiring up a load resistor - you should be able to get one at Maplins or another local electronics supplier. Wire it up in like this
http://www.matstrad.com/resistors_tech.php.
Not sure about the value, you can google around (at work at the moment), but I think somethink like 10 Ohms should work.
