After being almost the only stock SV at the ARTNW I decided that I wanted to change the bike or make some improvements.
Found a supplier of new CBR 600RRs for £6995, but the insurance was stupid and I didn't fancy going for a 600F for £50 more so it looks like its the mods. New can arrived this morning, shopping around for some tyres (probably Avon Storm 2's from what i've been reading). Tyres aren't really a mod, just that mine are dead. Also looking to upgrade fork springs - currently between Maxtons and Hagons although not sure it's worth the expense of the full Maxton cartridges. I know there are plenty of threads about what to do, but if anyone wants to give me their 2p about what to do it would be appreciated. |

a decent rear shock like a gsxr 1000 k3 or zx10 wouldnt be a bad move. also some hevier weight fork oil with the springs you mentiond should sort out the handling. should only set you back just under £180 or even less depending on what rear shock you go for.
a double bouble screen is 10x better than standard for protection and looks the mutts. looking around £45-65 levers are also an option for a bit of bling to show off lol. £50-150(depending on make, colour etc) and of cause somthing to make her sound like she should ![]() hope this helps ya out a bit for things to do |

I say change the bike, there must be other better bikes with good brakes and suspension with affordable insurance? CBR RR or GSXR will cost you but hornets or GSR's as an example would be more favourable and be far superior to an SV with new front springs IMHO....you want better brake calipers and fully adjustable suspension and the only way to have that is via costly mods using GSXR front ends or serious fork innards and caliper adapter plates etc etc!

depends how you wana go.... cosmetic or performance/handling.
I've only done things for the former atm. Tail tidy and rear mini indys is a good one, really tidys up the back end and it fairly cheap! (and easy) Fairing Lowers/Belly pan? As i think someone has already said, double bubble screen, looks awesome and its practicle aswell! (and super easy) Remove the warning stickers! haha Braided Hoses are a good one! Can imporve the brakes and still fairly cheap!....and colour coded ones look awesome! thats all i can think of, off the top of my head Last edited by rich88; 07-05-11 at 05:41 PM. |

do check out pipewerx exhausts too...life time guarantee and rather nice finish from what I've seen...can get black powder coated, carbon, titanium and standard in round, oval and tri-ova can shapes....

Tommy, have a look at the Hamicad tail tidy as an alternative to the R&G one, I had one and it looked cool
