Default First Aid training for bikers

I have just completed a 2 day first aid course and a further de-fib and CPR course at work. While chatting to Neil the instructor I asked if it would be possible for him to run a special course for bikers.

The format would be 3 hours and would cover CPR as well as injuries most likely to happen in the event of a motorcycle accident - so he would cover spinal injuries and complicated fractures and cover any other areas that those taking the course would like to know how to deal with from past experience. The CPR is a great skill to have anyway - it's what saved Chris's life in Thailand.

Neil said a 3 hour course would cost around £35 per person but the main problem is finding a venue. Ah, easy, we have numerous suitable rooms at Lord's and if I ask the big boss nicely I'm sure I can use one for an evening free of charge. We have loads of parking available for cars and bikes and St John's Wood tube 5 minutes away.

We could start at 6.30 or later to make it easy for everyone after work.

So if you think it's a good idea and you would consider coming along can you let me know via the poll. We can have up to a dozen on the course.

I'd seriously consider a brushup as it's been well over a decade since I did any training, although only a month since doing some practical.

Cheers Mark.

Location would be at Lord's in NW8.

Time and date would depend on when I could get a room free of charge. But we could work out a few dates that suit us and then see if MCC can offer us a room on any of those nights. The trainer does most of his work during the day so for an evening course he could be very flexible.
