Howdy,
Changed the engine in my k6 sv tonight and when i went to start it there was a horrible dry grinding noise. Everything is connected and all fluids are in. No idea what it is so does anyone have any experience/knowledge with this? Thanks in advance |

Changed the engine - or changed the engine oil?

Good question, it's not going to be easy to discern the cause of a noise across the internet, but, to start:
Where did the engine come from, what is its provenance and was it in a runner before you bought it?

Does it grind when cranking it? Or did it start and then sound grindy or what? Gotta be more specific.

Nah, bet is was the can of lapping paste added to a gallon of car oil to cure slip for a wet clutch.

Turns out that we had left out the shaft that connects the starter motor to the flywheel.(The replacement engine didn't come with one)
