Is my battery knacked? - SV650.org

Went out on my bike today and it started no problem.

Bike has been on trickle charger and been started regularly for the last 4 months.

When I went out today it started on the button no problem. After about an hour i stopped and turned engine off. Went to start it again and nothing, just the click click click whcih sounded more like a tick tick tick noise.

Got bike bump started and managed to get home.

Do you think the battery is knackered? I haven't checked with a volt meter yet but just thought i would throw the question out to the experts.

My SV did this back when I first bought it. It started up fine and ran fine but after about an hour or so of riding it cut out on me and then refused to start. After charging the battery it started, then later on that day refused to start again. Turned out to be a faulty Reg/Rec.

You will need to use a Multimeter to test the battery and charging system.

poss reg rec mate rather than battery, theres plenty threads about checking voltages etc

sounds like a reg rec not the battery. As KG says there enough threads on the testing
