Default Cluster Flies!

Just came back from a lovely ride and back to my greenhouse of a gaff.

I can't open the bloody windows as because they're south west facing and get the sun all afternoon which means the window frames are packed with cluster flies, if I open them they all pour out and try to escape!

Anyone got rid of them before? Fumigation won't work because of where they are, do I just need like a surface insecticide and lash it all over the frame?

Get some Deet or similar from an outdoors shop. I think some products melt plastic, so be careful where it goes. It should form a barrier that stops them.

Seconded.

I never remove spiders from my greenhouse (the one in my garden - not my overheated-by-the-sun house) so the fly population is kept down. Might have problems getting it approved by any female household members of course...

Some good suggestions! I was thinking someone would have the same problem, apparently they're really common this time of year in the uk. Will give pest control a call
