Default 650s handle bar risers?

Has anybody had any experience of raising clip ons or changing to handle bars on a 2000 curvy? Any ideas / recommendations?

I have moved your thread Colin - you may get more luck in this area.

Good luck with your search though!

Loads of threads on this topic over the years Colin. Do a search on clip-ons or risers or bar conversion etc.

This thread http://forums.sv650.org/showthread.p...ghlight=fj1200 has some useful info. I did the FJ1200 bar conversion on my SK1-S, the end result is very comfy, but be aware it isn't a simple bolt-on job, you do need to do some mods which if you are happy with such things are not difficult. The true plug-and-play conversions will cost a bit but may be worth it for you.

The naked top yoke/bar route may be the most convenient if you can find the parts in a breakers/ebay.

Whatever you go for, I certainly found it transformed the riding comfort and user-friendliness all round, control in town, slow riding, etc.

I used Gilles Variobar clip ons on my Curvy. Much better than OEM clip ons, plus you can get different height risers.

oodles of different adjustment combinations are possible

Mines slighty different because I've got a GSXR USD front end with 51mm (?) forks

However Gilles do different sized clamps to match the fork legs.

You have to be careful with the Curvy S that the controls don't bash the fairing or tank, so takes a bit of faffing to get it right
