Default strange running... carb icing?

morning all,
I did a search but couldnt quite find what i was looking for.
Over the past couple of days, first thing (about 20 to 6am) when i leave for work, acceleration onto and on the motorway is sluggish, the bike seems to top out around 70-80 and the throttle feels a touch heavy. I am restricted too but it is normally perky up to about 95, 100 on a good day.
I thought maybe the choke was stuck on or perhaps carb icing, and im using normal unleaded in this tank
Runs fine after work and in daytime hours so it leads me to think its the cold
Also its a 99 Curvy so its a carby one

Worth Tying IPA (not the bear)?
or Solkolene FST
The BP petrol is less inclined to ice ,though carb iceing on mine is most noticeable when i come of the 70mph b it in to work on to the slow filerting part of my commute.

yeah they do but they'll need time to warm up from cold. icing is still quite common also, i had a search and there was SOOO many posts.

have got some wynns carb cleaner and gave them a good blast through and got myself a litre of redex, that should last a while. if not ill give that silkolene -FST pro stuff a try

Some european models didn't, UK have them.

Pro FST is the most used and recommended, Wurth and putoline do similar.
PM Yorkie_Chris I'm sure he's found a cheaper alternative to Pro FST

I found running my `01 sv on tesco 99 super unleaded (think it maybe called momentum now) cured my sv of carb icing problems, next fuel refill I`ll be using it again.

Carb icing for me only an issue on part throttle.

Do the carb heaters come on with just the ignition? Ive also found that on the days I leave the ignition on for about 30 sec before starting the bike makes it much easier to start and runs better.

I think they are on the ignition ring with a thermostat in a strange place

The ASDA super make mine worse ?
Right as your filtering up to the ronderbout it will go "Futt", backfire and be a pig with out the choke.
Just re juced it with BP but will give tesco a go
