Hey Guys,
I managed to snag a real deal from Motad on one of their Venom GP cans with a carbon end cone. I paid £105 incl postage which I thought was great. I've Fitted the exhaust and I have a few questions, I hope you can help. 1: There is a very slight leak between the header pipe and the link pipe, is Gungum the way forward to sort this out? 2: I've removed both (yes both) the db eaters, one was a small cone with holes in it which goes into the can from the link pipe end, the other was at the exit and since the pipe is now more of a straight through I was wondering if I should now remap the ECU. Is this necessary? If so, do I need a power commander or similar unit? I read in another thread that the original ECU can be remapped so I emailed CarbonTek in Purley to enquire and this was their response : " The only way we can adjust the fuelling on your sv is with a power commander or bazzaz system Both items are around £300 and there is another £150 to fit and set up with a custom map. I would also recommend fitting a k&n air filter if you haven't done so. These are around £55" Thanks |

Hey Gregga, I noticed an auction on eBay for a Gladius version at £95 and asked the seller (who turned out to be Motad) if it would fit. They replied saying it would not but they would supply the SV version for the same price.
I'll try get hold of the seller and ask if they'd be interested in having some kind of discount for forum members and post more details. Here's a pic of it on the bike, slightly longer than I would have liked, but I actually really like it. And the sound is awesome. ![]() |

In this months Fast Bikes they'd fitted a Yoshi exhaust & Power Commander to their loan Sv650
BHP up by 4.5bhp + 50 gain in torque if I read it correctly. Which isn't to be sniffed at. But they're right the only way to get the fueling right is a Power Commander I know Skip had done to his Sv1000 and he said the difference was night & day. Have a look round EBAY for a Power Commander

My son is a tyre & exhaust fitter. When my 675 downpipe was leaking on my SV he used just silicone sealer, it did work to be honest, no leaks at all.
Nice buy by the way ![]()

Yep, Skip's was 2nd hand. You always run the risk with 2nd electronic stuff, so just bear that in mind.
But you'll save a packet by buying it 2nd hand

OK cool.
Thanks guys. BTW, I just got a reply from Motad and they have limited stock available but they'd be willing to supply them at the same price I paid. I'll get more details from them on how to go about setting that up on the forum and get back to you guys. ![]() |

OK. Got the details from Motad - just need to call them up on 01922714700, ask for Ian and order the Venom GP for SV650, it should be £95 with £10 postage - I got mine within 2 days. You might need to mention you got referred from the forum.
I'll post this up in a new thread too. |

Hey Guys,
(Following on from this thread http://forums.sv650.org/showthread.php?t=172753 ) I've spoken to Ian at Motad and he is willing to supply a few more of these exhausts at £95 + £10 postage (mine took 2 days). It's a Stainless steel can with carbon cone and it sounds amazing. I think it's a real bargain at £95 - certainly the cheapest new exhaust for the SV anywhere else. Here is a picture of it fitted: ![]() If you want to order one, then call up Ian at Motad on 01922714700 order the Venom GP for SV650. You might need to mention you got referred from the forum. Hope someone else can benefit from this deal! Cheers Last edited by Epic Monkey; 15-11-11 at 12:38 PM. |
