I'm thinking of getting a washable K&N air filter to replace the stock one because I think it will be cheaper in the long run.
I'm not intending to take out the airbox, just get a standard K&N that fits in place of the stock filter; one of these, to be precise: http://www.knfilters.co.uk/search/pr...x?Prod=SU-6503 Will I need to re-jet? Last edited by XmisterIS; 15-12-11 at 10:34 PM. |

I was gonna get a K&N air filter to replace the stock one but i read a few thread on here saying the K&N air filters for the SV make it worse and that stock are better. I ended up getting a stock air filter to be on the safe side.

At the risk of getting flamed but personally I would not ever get a K&N filter for normal road use as they are less effective at filtering than the standard one. In my opinion, for me.

the standard filter is as good as a K and N filter, the k and n does give a better induction noise though. I have one on my bike, because it had one when i bought it. Depending on how long you are going to keep the bike for it can be cheaper. The K and N recharge kit is £15, and the filter only needs charging as often as you would change the standard filter. IIRc the standard filter is £20 or so. |
