'tis the season unfortunately. Very sad news.
I've noticed a heap more bikes on the road over the last couple of weeks, most being ridden like they are on the track. Not to say that our one and only was at all, or this fella, but it's a sad fact that there will be more.
Be safe people.

Same thing every year, bikes out of the garage after a winter lay off, going too fast too soon.

The Acle straight is a nasty deceptive piece of road.

RIP buddy

I just hope no more of these unfortunate souls are people I know, having one person I know have a fatal crash is enough for a lifetime!

It is nothing you wish on anyone, but, if you don't want to know anyone who might become a fatality stay away from biking.

Bikes don't come with crumple zones...

I posted a thread about this a while ago.

Now I know things are raw with what happened to Reeder, but again, do we need to list EVERY dead biker in the country?

You say "brother", but does anyone on here actually know either of the guys already mentioned in the news reports?

I am sorry, but just because someone uses the same mode of transport, there isn't an automatic bond with them.

Lets leave the "Random Biker Down" stuff to the news papers, eh?

It affects me as I ride/drive these roads every day, so, in likeliness saw this guy at some point.

I posted it not because of Reeder’s passing, not to be too harsh, but, I hardly knew the guy.

Everyone knows about David's passing two and a half years ago, now, I did know David and I do miss him, but, I feel it is respectful to mark the passing of anyone who loses their lives on two wheeled motorised transport as we are a select few and we do acknowledge each other as we ride around.

I don’t know of any car driver that waves and/or nods at every car that goes past, but, I wave and/or nod at every bike that goes past, whether they respond or not.

By choosing to be on two wheels you know the risks you run and know that if the crap hits the fan you’re going to come off second best.

It was just a reminder about how safe we all have to be as you have to compensate for yourself and the idiots that share the road.

The fact it is around the time the Org has lost someone as well is irrelevant

I have to agree, unless you know them why bring it up?

I've seen and not really been bothered by all the reports of biker deaths in the past, those people I didn't know and it was more of a statistic than anything...it obviously brings home the risks of biking but that I knew from the outset...who doesn't?

Reeder's fatal accident was obviously different, it was the first I had a personal connection with and it did affect me, more so than I had thought it would to be honest. And it's that which I don't want to go through again any time soon! Like most people on here I would imagine...
