Default Bikes Logbook

Me again lol. I still haven't received my Logbook to the bike, I have sent messages to previous owner but have received nothing back , no confirmation that it's been sent or anything. The day i bought the bike the previous owner said it would be sent out that day. (Jan 9th). Should I have received it by now? and what should I do next?

depends on when the other person put it in the post. you could try and phone the DVLA and see where its at.

I never received my V5 so after 2 months I phoned the DVLA who apologised, told me when they had issued it and put another in the post.

It arrived a few days later. Ironically the wife was nagging about a mountain of post I had never opened. What where and lo and behold there was the original.

I hate post in this house, the wife/daughter file it in a drawer if they get to it first and I never see it. They say it is to stop the house looking untidy. think they have something to hide.

If you still don't get it I think you fill in a V52/C (I may be wrong on the exact form). If you send them the green new owner's slip with this it'll be free. However if you need to tax the vehicle I'd only do this after taxing as it can take 4-6 weeks to have the new V5 issued apparently and you won't have the green slip during this time.

Gaaahhhh. I hate that too! That happens with all my stuff though, not just post. I put a charger down one minute and the next minutes it's vanished. When I ask where it's gone, the charger is in a draw, but the AC adapter for it is nowhere to be seen. It'd be ok if the person doing the hiding wasn't a forgetful disorganised pleb.

I'm still waiting for mine from the end of last year, as is someone else I know.

I've written to DVLA to chase both. Slackers.

normally only just over a week or so, tend to chenge my car fairly regularly and the average time is about 10 days to recieve the V5, does help if the previous owner actually posts their part in the first place.
