Bought this a few days ago and received it in the post today however the four little fittings show at the bottom of the picture were nowhere to be seen, so all I have is the paddock stand with the two hooks. I tried lifting the bike up with the stand but with it being my first paddock stand I didn't really know what I was doing. So do I need the four fittings to use the stand (I'm guessing I do), and if so, if it wasn't a mistake where they missed them out, is this false advertising because it implies that the fittings come with the stand with them being in the picture.
Thanks. Last edited by Fifteen15; 28-02-12 at 05:19 PM. |

The hooks are for using if you have added bobbins to your swing-arm.
The square ones with the pegs are for using it on the front of the bike. The ones with the black plastic are for using the stand on the rear of the bike if you dont have bobbins, and they go under the swing-arm. The ad does state Quote:
Call M&P, Mon - Fri 9am to 5pm on 01792 22443 and I am sure they will, sell you the other bits too.

I find it much better - more secure & less likely to damage anything using the hooks with bobbins instead. Personally I'd spend the money it would cost for the cups on bobbins instead & then use the stand as it is with the hooks.

Well that's not necessarily true is it. Why put the additional parts in the picture if they're not included? Also I interpreted "hooks" as the different attachments. This could have easily been clarified by statement saying 'attachments shown not included' as many other adverts have done. My advice, check the box/packaging. I ordered stands that came with add on's and but they were tucked away in a little recess in the cardboard packaging which i assumed was just part of the box's shape. But it could also easily have been a mistake by the seller. |

Come on, there are is only one set in that pic that are remotely like hooks. I do agree with your disclaimer that should have been added, with regards to the parts not included however.

Based on the advert, I would also have expected to recieve the cups and front fork pin attachments since it does not explcitly say they are not included. I would definitely challenge them on the wording of the advert.

Stick these on your swing arm, lift your bike and do what you need to do. I use a set and they are fine, make holding the bike on the stand a doddle and are pretty cheap too.

You might never use the swingarm attachment but you will curse yourself for not getting it on the one ocassion that you do need it. |

The advert is plural thus being more than one set of adaptors.
When I read the ad' it looks like it comes with all the fittings not just the hooks. I'd give them a call check thats the case & ask them to correct their ad it's misleading. I'm sure they'd be happy to send you the rest of the fitments if that isn't the case. |

Maybe if it came with the stand they would be worth hanging on to (if we ignore the whole should they have been supplied or not bit). But I wouldn't bother buying them on the off chance that one day you may need them.
