Are headstock and front wheel bearings the same as the sv650. Im having the usual k3 dillema. Im trying to buy bearings off ebay and I just cant see the right ones. After overhauling the brakes their perfect and no longer binding but im still getting a woosh woosh noise from the front. Im getting a clunk going over bumps (i overhauled the forks last year so cant be that) and the bike goes left easily but with right handers I seem to be fighting the bike to try to get it to to tip

As which SV650?
Anyhoo, until someone tells me they know different, all the chassis bearings of Pointies I've seen are the same.

I've had my fork springs and oil upgraded and the steering bearing replaced... and it still clunks over bumps, so I wouldn't expect much. Tip the bike up on the stand so the front wheel is in the air and then turn it to feel for a worn bearing, should be completely free moving with no points of increased resistance.

head stock will be the same for s/n, and only pointy will fit as the stem on the pointys is bigger than curvy's
wheel bearings that i got and fitted were just for pointy im sure, koyo PS the stock forks do clunk, u can usually feel if there gone by pushing bike back and forth with front brake on Last edited by barwel1992; 27-03-12 at 09:51 PM. |

the whooosh whooosh is either your discs or your chain.
if your going to replace the steering bearings then get taper ones bottom: http://simplybearings.co.uk/shop/p43...duct_info.html top: http://simplybearings.co.uk/shop/p43...duct_info.html front wheel bearings: http://simplybearings.co.uk/shop/p10...duct_info.html and the seals to go with them: http://simplybearings.co.uk/shop/p26...duct_info.html |

Yes, to the best i can but on the nut side of the axle the brackets loose before you tighten it. bad suzuki cheapy metal. So it makes it difficult. Bibio gave me a pointer on how to fix it. He said that the new ones dont do it so i might go and order a new one.
