Default Separate chain guard & hugger ?

Hi guys,

I'm looking to tidy the back end of my pointy, in particular maybe with this aluminium chain guard; http://www.moorespeedracing.co.uk/py...ain-guard.html

Question is, will I be able to install that chain guard AND find another hugger to fit, preferably a small hugger that barely stands out at all. I would run just the chain guard but I live in Scotland so I spray dirt like it's going out of fashion !

Any tips will be appreciated, cheers !

Thanks, I had been looking everywhere for a small hugger like that - and there it is !

Only problem is that's stated as being an 04-06 year, my pointy is a 2K8 model.

Hope you don't mind me picking your brains and asking if you think I can 'help' it fit ?

I think that is because the Americans are idiots.

On SV650's the swing arm is the same from the bikes debut in '03 till now. The swing arm has never changed.

The only difference in "pointy's" are the rear sub-frame, seat and OEM cans. On the '03 model the sub-frame had completely straight bars running from the main frame, whereas on '04 models and after the sub-frame bars had a little "kink" in them, thusly lowering the seat after much complaint of the '03 models seat being too high. As such the seat had to be altered and the exhaust hanging point had to be moved, other than that the bikes are identical, well, except I think after ’06 or ’08 when they started having double spark plugs, but, that isn’t a major thing…

Bald Git off here used to make/sell mini huggers (http://forums.sv650.org/showthread.php?t=150861), not sure if he's still around and doing them, he did put them on ebay at one time.

I got one, but it never really sat properly on the bike and has worn down a bit from touching the rear wheel.

LOL, glowing review!

I've got one of these from pyramid plastics which I really like. They only seem to do it for the curvy though, I'm not sure what the difference between the swingarms is..... so I suppose this isn't helpful at all sorry

I also bought one of Bald Gits mini rear huggers:

Got it painted to the same colour as the bike and thought it looked great.

Had a look at some pictures of Bald Gits huggers on a thread - they looked good. I'll send him a pm on the off chance he's about, shame if he's not around anymore !

I think I'll go with this Puig stuff, on a website I've never used before mandp.co.uk - hope they are reliable ?

If they are, I'll probably order the chain guard; http://www.mandp.co.uk/productinfo/5...in-Guards/Puig .

Also the hugger; http://www.mandp.co.uk/productinfo/5...rs-Suzuki/Puig .

Problem is Puig make full size huggers/ chain guards - will send them an email and make sure it's the tiny hugger for the SV650.

Thanks for your replies so far, making it a bit easier to decide.
