Default '55 Pointy not starting,

Hey guys.

On Friday after a 20 min ride home from work my pointy started losing power, instantly thought it was water in the spark plug. nursed my baba home. Changed the front spark plug... still not turning over,
So I topped up the battery for 3-4 hours, tried again. she starts but idles below 1K and when ridden feels like a 50cc scooter.

I left her till this morning ( so if water was in the spark plug it MIGHT dry out by a miracle), went to turn her over this morning to see and she wont start, battery flat.

She has been left sat for 8 hours and the battery has died? ( i charged her fully not a day ago)

Do i need a new battery? I have no idea what the problem could be!! (sv650 btw)

In the name of the SV Gods, can some knight in shinning SHOEI race armour aid thy fair squidly rider?

I'm working tomorrow until 3pm big Dave.

- UPDATE -

Used jumper cables to get her started, she started and idled WELL below 1k again - exhaust STANK of pure fuel, she was vibrating like a MOTHER F..K.R! I dont think its water in the front spark plug because the drain hole is completely clear ( after a right good spray with WD-40 the evening before last.
Both spark plugs are actually sparking.
The bike wont stay alive long enough for me to check if the exhaust header is getting warm.

I'm at a lose end here, the issue is deeper than my vague knowledge can handle. DAMNIT...........

If the exhaust stinks of fuel and it's only running on one then the first thing to do is check for a spark on the other cylinder.

spark plugs possibly. try swapping the one that's sparking to the one that's not and see if you get a spark

I purchased 4 spark plugs awhile back, non of them spark.

Dave Preston talked me through a couple of diagnosis procedures down the phone. We suspect its the HT lead.. the rear cylinder is ticking but the exhaust header isn't getting warm at all.

I'm going to give YorkieChris a buzz to see if his mobile mechanic galactic abilities could come and nurse my Sophie back to health at a price
