Cool. Although I'm surprised they didn't compare lap times.

Talking about MotoGP riders ......"When the riders are on full lean, banked over at 60 degrees, the total amount of rubber in contact with the track is less than a couple of credit cards, and he's got 250 horsepower underneath him."

Oeeerrrrr!

Quickest lap

Pole times from the two British Grands Prix last year:
  • MotoGP - two minutes 2.020 seconds (Casey Stoner, Honda)
  • F1 - one minute 30.399 seconds (Mark Webber, Red Bull-Renault)
Although it doesn't say what track. Plus, it would have only been 800 cc last year, not the big thousand

Bikes = better.

From the racing seen so far it seems the regs are working out alright in favour of a level playing field.
Compared to F1 money pit procession with all the mario kart bollox KERS and stuff, how fake...

From an engineering standpoint the cars are much much more highly strung, F1 cars need to be fed hot water before they'll start, can't really be driven by ordinary humans etc. You see the odd bike journos riding GP bikes no problem.

Bikes are better

As YC said how many journos (except ex F1) do you see in a F1 car.

The Silverstone comparison is around the extension for both. They both used the new section over the old route
