Default More MPG as it gets older

Well, this is odd. As my SV is getting older is seems to becoming more fuel efficent. Now, i only get a single stange light on my SK1 (After a rectifier/battery fault a while back) but since then, im getting far more to the gallon than i used to!!

Yesterday i returned 179miles to 14.5L of fuel and have seen 191 to similar levels. I used to only see 150 odd to that level a while back. All very strange.

So why?

Doris rolled over 74000 miles yesterday for the record.

You're older, you're riding slower.

my theory is that since you fixed the charging circuit you are getting more power to the ignition system so in turn getting a better spark giving a better detonation of the fuel. if your riding the same roads and at the same speeds you wont notice the % on the throttle but you are probably using less opening than before.

check your plugs to make sure your not running to lean.

The bikes running as it should. Plugs are fine. Also this isnt the 1st time i have replaced the charging circuit.

Combination of things, engine will be nice and loose, well bedded in so little friction but obviously still good compression.

But probably the biggest difference I would guess will be your riding.
