i lost one of my oem bar ends a few weeks ago and cant seem to find any oem ones online. anyone have any recommendations? only looking for one. failing that i will just buy them off ebay. i think any 7/8 inch (22mm) bar ends will fit clip ons on a K5 SV650S. will the following work?
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/BIKE-IT-UN...item484559acb4 if so, how exactly do they fit?? cheers. |

Those won't fit, as the OEM bars have a threaded insert inside, which will prevent the expander of those bar ends going inside far enough to fit.
Part number for the bar end is 56200-04821 £21 for a new pair, without the screw! http://www.robinsonsfoundry.co.uk/co...15&submit.y=17 These are nicely made and come with the screw! http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/OBERON-SUZ...ht_3281wt_1110

thanks for that, those oberon ones state they will only fit upto a K3 SV. i might just give robinsonsfoundry a ring tomorrow, have had good dealings with them in the past! pity aftermarket ones are hard to come by, these cost a small fortune!

I'm sure Oberon make bar ends for all years of SV, the clip ons haven't changed much, if at all between years

i got some shiny solid stainless ones of ebay long time ago now but about £15ish
reason i went weighty (ie stainless instead of plastic/ alloy ) the weight is there apparently to reduce the harmonic ossilation induced upon the handlbars during the high rev ranges forced upon the engine. So yer they do help kill vibration Just a thought when considering plastic or metal. the originals are solid steel if i remeber right |

If you haven't ordered any, here's another pair, sellers doing black or silver

where do you get the idea that pointy S bar ends are screw fitting. unless i had different bars on mine they are bung fitting so any of the aftermarket ones with a rubber bung will do.

From what I can remember the bar ends on my k3 were screw fitting lance, although I've had the gixxer front end on a while now and can't remember 100%.
What I can remember though is that they wouldn't fit my TL clip ons. I did fancy a set of those oberon ones in stainless steel, but the listing says they fit sv650 and tl1000s and I don't think they will. The Pro Bolt ones have different part numbers for sv and tl so that confirms it for me, just a pity that pro bolt don't do stainless steel ones. Daviesv (I think) off of here used to make some lovely bar ends, don't know if he still does though.

As you can see from the picture the OEM barend rubber expanders are ~60mm inside the bars, and so if you think they are purely screw fixing you have left the threaded rubber expanders inside the handlebars (when they can/do come out).
