Default Wiring loom under carbs?

Hi all,

I have just checked a few manuals on the carbs and I can't seem to see anything specific, I have just been taking the loom off the bike and started to clean it up a bit and I have found that there is a loom connected to the carbs, what is this loom for? I am guessing it might be something to do with the fuel level sensor or something along those lines with regards to priming before trying to start the engine?

Ah ok, I am guessing they aren't really needed - the engine will only be used in the summer, I noticed the TPS, im happy with where that is lol was just wondering what the smaller wires are but it seems to be problem solved

I think they are only on the UK bikes (not 100%) but I don't think they really do anything.

Mabey if the bike had been sitting for a long time ??

I will check out if I need them, I guess its just for the colder starts in the winter and to prevent carb icing, I won't be running the engine in the winter so I think its safe to remove them lol

ONLY! the uk sv650's have carb heaters on them, and only the UK wiring looms have the plugs in the wiring loom. reason for it is dew to the damp weather we get in the uk thats it, for some reason suzuki thought that only in the uk is it that fing wet do they need to put carb heater on the uk bikes lol....

There's been loads written about them and their lack of effect. Have a search and you'll find some very old posts indeed.
