Hi
Just taken delivery of some clip-ons from a forum members and wondering how to go about switching out the bar for clip-ons. My usual approach of staring at the problem for a few minutes before a solution magically appearing isnt working. I guess stripping and removing bar looks straight forward, but whats the next step and what tool will i need? |

You have to strip the switch assembly, there is 2 long screws that are accessible underneath, then disconnect the cables then it will slide off(after removing the bar end)
Everything else should be straight forward. |

Sussed it out eventually. As it turns out clip ons dont fit on a non S yoke so i've had to reassemble everything back to standard. It was a learning experience to say the least.

Was it just the bars you wanted to change? If so, the easiest way would be to switch to Ace/Clubman bars.
They'll give a similar riding position to clip-ons but you don't need to change yokes as the Ace bars still use the standard risers. |

Surely top yokes for an 'S' curvy must be ten a penny (more or less!). It's the naked yokes that everyone wants for comfort conversions.

I was wanting to go for a more sportier look on the bike as I dont ride much long distance where comfort becomes an issue. However having had time to think about the conversion, I''ve decided to leave it alone until the end of summer so not to waste any riding time in what little sun we're getting.

I've just stripped one out and its not hard but you do need a, i think from memory, tx40 drive bit, like a large star bit with a hole in the middle, its for the bolts for the ignition on the back of the barrel, and a good extension bar to loosen a couple of the fixings/ bolts off. I had one in my pro halfords tool kit.
Yokes can be bought for £20 delivered. top yoke that is |

I've replaced my throttle tube but I seem to have knackered something in the switch, the light switch has stoped working, iris just loose in the housing. Any ideas?
