Dont know if this has been put on here already or not.
Suzuki GB PLC Steinbeck Crescent Snelshall West Milton Keynes Bucks MK4 4AE United Kingdom Tel: 0500 011 959 We regret to inform you that your personal data has been illegally hacked from our Motorcycle website on the 2nd August 2012. The data obtained relates to your entry into the 'Snap up a Suzuki experience' competition and contained your name, address, e-mail and phone number if provided. The information does not extend to financial information and we have removed your information from our website database. This is clearly a serious matter and we have advised the Information Commissioner's Office and the High-Tech Crime Unit at Thames Valley Police. The hacker posted your data on an obscure public website along with two and a half thousand other records and this has been deleted. We believe that the data was in the public domain for a short period of time and are concerned that there could be a possibility that they may repost it elsewhere. To that end, we urge you to be cautious about e-mails you may receive that are unexpected. We believe the hackers are a protest group against the Anti-Counterfeiting Trade Agreement (ACTA) which was adopted in Japan this week hence why Suzuki was targeted. We apologise for this situation and any inconvenience this illegal act may cause you. If you have any questions then please contact our Customer Services team on 0500 011 959, normal hours 08.30 - 17.30 Monday to Friday and there is a 24 hour contact centre. Yours sincerely For and on behalf of Suzuki GB PLC Ashley D'Alanno Customer Services Manager ------------------------------------------------- Reply from Suzuki: Thank you for your recent email. I can confirm that the email I sent you was genuine. Regrettably, our motorcycle website was hacked late last week by a cyber terrorist organisation targeting Japanese companies in relation to the recent passing of the Anti Counter Fit Act in Japan. Full details regarding the hacking can be found in our previous email sent to you. We would like to take this opportunity to thank you for taking the time to contact us and apologise for any inconvenience caused. Please do call us on 0500 011959 should you require any assistance in the future. Kind regards Ashley D'Alanno Customer Services Manager Suzuki GB PLC Steinbeck Crescent, Snelshall West, Milton Keynes, Buckinghamshire, MK4 4AE t 0500 011 959 |

Love things like that, that competition was ages ago wasn't it, why not delete it straight away not after you have been hacked.

Counterfeit I've heard of.

![]() Good thing he was dealing with the Manager. LOL As for the hacking, only so much you can do. There are sick people out there with nothing better to do. As for Suzuki keeping the info, standard policy anywhere, potential cutomers. They are not giving anything away because they are feeling generous. It's to bring in more sales and more potential customers.

Protesting against ACTA... they couldn't do much better. Shame it seems to be misdirected.
