Default Gear change question?

Recently have ridden a few other bikes. All of them felt to have a smoother and more direct feel through the lever compared to mine which I can only describe as being more clunky and not as direct.

Is there anyway to adjust this gear lever feel? Or maybe this gearbox is known for this which I haven't yet read about. Thanks

unless your riding another SV you can't make a comparison, theres an adjuster on the handlebars setting that up helps, greasing the system behind the sprocket cover occasionally helps (think that's where the sv clutch is rod?)

Could the clutch springs or friction plates be wore, I think my tiger needs new springs, and I know the VFR needs a new clutch putting in.

Yea I been messing with the adjuster screw on the handlebar but thats just changing the feel of the clutch lever really, not the gear selector which is what I am looking for. But very true another SV would tell me a lot! Hope its nothing serious!

Im very much a newbie to bikes so Ive not had much experience with these types of things! Thanks sunshine

I imagine its normally, my experience of curvy's was clunky but then again mine went down more times than a lesbian couple on honeymoon which might of caused a problem. I upgraded to a heavier bike so I don't drop it as often because its harder to lift

mines as sk6 16000 miles, and mines clunky, before buying one, reading up on many reviews, most said the sv had a clunky gearbox. so sounds about right

it is, she's only been down once to write a bus off and get a bit written off herself, so that confirms its a normal clunk

doing a bit of reading here and it looks as if you are right. I can live with it, would be nice to tighten it up a bit just if you get me so it is not as sloppy.
