Default Fitting a cam chain tensioner

Hi
Changing my CCT on my 1999 curvy with a ratchet type version form a later model is this ok?
Also I don't have a manual yet and was wondering whether you have ;to set the engine timing up before you remove and refit it? Or can you remove it at any time?

Thanks

Easy job, just pull it out and whack the new one in. Timing won't change if you don't turn the engine with it out. Take old one out, fit body of new one, put in spring and end plug, turn engine by hand a couple of times to let it start to work. Getting the old gasket off can be an interesting job though.
